Компанії Apple, Samsung, Volkswagen, Microsoft і Sony не пройшли перевірки, яка показала, що кобальт для виробництва їх пристроїв був здобутий без використання дитячої праці.

Про це пише Еспресо.TV з посиланням на доповідь організації Amnesty International.

Правозахисники отримали документи, згідно з якими компанії купують кобальт у компанії Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Ltd (Huayou Cobalt), підрозділ якої в Конго використовує дитячу працю.

За даними Amnesty International, під землею на півдні Конго у вересні 2014 – грудні 2015 р. загинуло щонайменше 80 осіб, але точні цифри встановити неможливо. Як повідомляють в організації, під землею працюють тисячі дітей у віці від семи років. У шахті вони проводять більше 12 годин на добу, за що отримують $1-2 в день.
