21st Century Fox, которая является частью компании медиамагната Руперта Мердока, отказалась от планов съемок мини-сериала о бывшем госсекретаре США и вероятном кандидате на пост президента страны в 2016 году Хиллари Клинтон.

Как отмечает The New York Times, отказ от съемок фильма, вероятнее всего, связан с бойкотом, который объявила Республиканская партия США телеканалам NBC News и CNN, первый из которых является заказчиком сериала, а второй намеревался снять о Клинтон документальный фильм.

В итоге оба телеканала лишились возможности проводить дебаты между кандидатами в президенты США от Республиканской партии.

Сюжет сериала планировалось связать с биографией Клинтон с 1998 года. В связи с информацией о возможном участии супруги Билла Клинтона в президентских выборах 2016 года сразу же появились подозрения, что данные съемки являются скрытой поддержкой Демократической партии.

Напомним, что сейчас также идет подготовка к съемкам полнометражного художественного фильма, рассказывающего о Хиллари Клинтон. Картина носит название Родэм (эту фамилию Клинтон носила до замужества). Постановкой ленты займется Джеймс Понсольдт. Фильм должен выйти на экраны в 2016 году.
