Из-за опечатки пришлось изъять из продажи 6 тыс монет, на которых было неверно написано слово «Иисус».
В честь избрания нового Папы Римского – Франциска, выпустили новые монеты. На них обнаружили грубую и богохульную ошибку. Согласно данным BBC, Слово Jesus («Иисус») на монетах написано как «Lesus». Фраза, обрамляющая края монет, написана с орфографической ошибкой. «Vidit ergo Jesus publicanum et quia miserando atque eligendo vidit, ait illi sequere me», что значит «Иисус увидел человека, сидящего у сбора пошлин, и говорит ему: следуй за Мною».
По этой причине Ватикан изъял из продажи новые монеты (их отпечатал Монетный двор Италии). Материалами для монет стали золото, серебро и бронза. Как отреагировал сам Папа Римский на этот казус пока не известно, пишет Imarketolog.ru. Около десятка монет с ошибкой успели купить коллекционеры. Скорее всего, они не согласятся обменять их на «правильные», ведь бракованные монеты более редкие и ценятся выше обычных.
Напомним, что монеты выпускаются по заказу Ватикана после каждого избрания нового Папы. Их продажа – важная составляющая дохода Святого престола.
