Анонімний акаунт у Х (колишній Twitter) спричинив бурхливі злет і падіння на фондових ринках. Усе через те, що опублікував фейкову новину, що президент США Дональд Трамп нібито думає призупинити дію мит на 90 днів. Про це пише Financial Times.

Удень 7 квітня в медіа поширили новину про те, що директор Національної економічної ради США Кевін Гассет нібито сказав, що Трамп розглядає 90-денну паузу в запровадженні мит. Ведучі американського телеканалу CNBC прочитали цей заголовок у прямому ефірі, намагаючись пояснити, чому ринок раптово почав рости.

Індекс S&P 500 виріс майже на 6% після появи цього заголовка. Але вже за годину Білий дім спростував інформацію — жодного плану про призупинення тарифів не було. Акції впали майже на ту ж саму величину.

Зрозуміти, звідки взялась інформація про нібито слова Гассета, виявилося непросто. Імовірне першоджерело — користувач із юзернеймом @DeItaone в X, який використовує ім’я *Walter Bloomberg. Він не має стосунку до американського агентства Bloomberg, а сам акаунт базується у Швейцарії. Основна діяльність Волтера Блумберга — копіювати заголовки фінансових новин і постити на своїй сторінці. Волтер Блумберг опублікував пост із фейковою заявою Гассета. Пост швидко розлетівся мережею, адже на Блумберга підписані 848 тисяч людей. І хоча згодом він видалив пост, скриншоти збереглися.
