У Європейському Союзі планують розпочати перевірку Facebook та Instagram компанії Meta через стурбованість, що компанія робить недостатньо для протидії дезінформації з росії та інших країн, і що може вплинути на європейські вибори, - повідомляє  — FT.

Офіційні особи ЄС мають запитання до того, як на платформах працює повідомлення про заборонений контент, і побоюються, що цей механізм не відповідає Закону Євросоюзу про цифрові послуги.

Цей закон зобов'язує платформи розкривати дані про те, яких заходів вони вживають для боротьби з дезінформацією та пропагандою. 

Якщо ЄС визнає Meta, яка порушила закон, на компанію накладуть штраф у розмірі до 6% від річного обороту.
