Інститут Національної пам’яті оприлюднив висновок, у якому зазначено, що поет хоч і народився у Києві, однак його родина була вихідцями з Орловської губернії росії.

«Письменник, не зважаючи на роки життя у Києві, зневажав українців та їхню культуру, ненавидів українське прагнення до незалежності, негативно відгукувався про становлення Української держави та її очільників», — зазначили експерти.

На думку Інституту Національної пам’яті, подальше перебування Булгакова у публічному просторі є російською пропагандою, а все, що у столиці пов’язане з Булгаковим, має підлягати деколонізації.
