Причина, через яку суддя виніс це покарання, полягає в тому, що Куртадж, як і раніше, «залишається високим ризиком для суспільства через свої навички та мотивацію». Суд почув, як Куртадж продовжував висловлювати намір повернутися до кіберзлочинності якнайшвидше. Він дуже мотивований. Аріон Куртадж залишатиметься в лікарні, поки лікарі не вважатимуть його адекватним.
