Канцлерка Німеччини Ангела Меркель привітала обраного президента США Джо Байдена та обрану віцепрезидентку Камалу Гарріс з перемогою на виборах.

Про це повідомляє "Європейська правда" з посиланням на SPIEGEL.

Вона пригадала "хороші розмови" з Байденом, його багаторічний  політичний досвід і висловила особливу радість від знайомства з Гарріс.  Як перша жінка на посаді і дитина двох іммігрантів, вона є "натхненням для багатьох людей в США", зазначила Меркель.

За її словами, у важкий час Байден і Гарріс отримали велику відповідальність від виборців.

Вона зазначила, що Німеччина і США "повинні триматися разом, щоб впоратися з викликами нашого часу". Меркель назвала серед таких викликів пандемію, глобальне потепління і боротьбу з тероризмом.

У своїй заяві Меркель жодного разу не згадала ім’я чинного президента США Дональда Трампа.

Нагадаємо, підрахунок голосів у США ще не завершений, однак аналітики ключових американських медіа, які підбивають проміжні підсумки голосування, вирішили, що є підстави оголосити про впевнену перемогу Байдена у Пенсильванії.

Перемога у цьому штаті дозволяє йому закріпити за собою як мінімум 284 голоси виборників.
