В рамках боротьби з коронавірусом, через брак спецодягу, медикам Нью-Йорка доводилося вдягати сміттєві пакети. Про це в інтерв’ю “Голосу Америки” розповіла українка Ірина Кіт, що працює медсестрою в Нью-Йорку.

Наразі, перед тим як приступити до роботи, американські медики надягають респіратори, захисний щит для очей, рукавички і жовтий одноразовий халат, який зав’язується.

До цього медикам часом доводилося вдягати на себе сміттєві пакети, щоб хоч якось захиститися.

У клініці, де так робили, один медбрат в результаті заразився коронавірусом і помер.

“Я бачила, що в Італії чи навіть в Україні в лікарів є цілі комбінезони. Це так круто! В нас цього нема. Нам видають одну маску на день — і це ще за умови, що ти знайдеш правильний розмір. В мене мале лице, і рідко можна знайти підхожі маски, є лише звичайні. Я мушу бігати і благати, щоб мені її десь знайшли”, – розповіла медсестра.

Проте така “амуніція” не дає можливості ефективно працювати, оскільки через дві години не вистачає повітря через респіратор, який до того ж залишає на обличчі сліди з синцями.

Щоб зайвий раз не наближатися до хворих коронавірусом, лікарі іноді розмовляють з ними по гучному зв’язку мобільного телефону. Але у медсестер, яким потрібно вимірювати температуру пацієнтів, такої можливості немає.
