Социальная сеть Facebook не будет отказываться таргетированной политической рекламы, сообщает The Washington Post.

Взамен отказа от политической рекламы, в Facebook обещают дать пользователям больший контроль над рекламными сообщениями. В частности, у пользователей появится возможность сократить в ленте количество материалов о политических кандидатах и социальных проблемах. В Facebook планируют запустить эту функцию летом 2020 года.

Также пользователи смогут отказаться от рекламы, при таргетинге которой использовались их данные, в частности — электронная почта.

В компании отметили, что прислушиваются к критике пользователей в адрес правил размещения политической рекламы, однако не собираются полностью от нее отказываться, как это сделал Twitter.
