В Румунії у неділю відбудеться перший тур президентських виборів, на яких, як очікується, перемогу здобуде чинний президент Клаус Йоганніс.

Як повідомляє "Європейська правда" з посиланням на Reuters, останні опитування віддають Йоганнісу також перемогу в другому турі, незалежно від того, хто буде його опонентом.

За словами оглядачів, за підтримки уряду меншості ліберального прем'єр-міністра Людовика Орбана, союзника, який в понеділок отримав вотум довіри в парламенті, Йоганніс зможе призначити головних прокурорів, які рішуче боротимуться з повсюдною корупцією.

Його переобрання може також підвищити шанси Ліберальної партії сформувати коаліційний уряд після парламентських виборів, які повинні відбутися в 2020 році.

"Ні для кого не новина, що я дуже хочу справедливого правосуддя та ефективної боротьби з корупцією", - сказав Йоганніс на початку цього місяця.

Упродовж свого першого терміну Йоганніс намагався обмежити судову реформу правлячих соціал-демократів, яка, за словами Брюсселя та Вашингтона, загрожувала верховенству права і викликала найбільші протести у країні за останні три десятиліття.
