Колишній директор Центрального розвідувального управління США Джон Бренан заявив, що російське втручання у вибори президента США 2016 року змінило думку виборців

Під час виступу перед Національним пресклубом у Вашингтоні 30 жовтня Бренан заявив, що "особисто впевнений, що ці російські зусилля змінили думку хоча б одного виборця".

Разом з тим він зазначив, що ЦРУ не оцінювало російський вплив кампанії на голосування, тому Бренан не зміг назвати точну кількість американців, які піддалися цьому.

"Чи був це один виборець, чи мільйон виборців, я не знаю", – зауважив він.

Бреннан обіймав посаду директора ЦРУ в адміністрації президента Барака Обами в період з 2013 по 2017 роки.

Кілька офіційних розслідувань дійшли висновку, що російські хакери та тролі стояли за кампанією впливу на громадську думку американців через різні канали напередодні виборів 2016 року.

Кремль незмінно заперечує втручання у вибори за кордоном.

Згідно з опублікованою минулого року комітетом з розвідки Сенату США розсекреченою частиною доповіді, підготовленою за участю Центрального розвідувального управління, Федерального бюро розслідувань та Агентства національної безпеки, Кремль втручався в перебіг президентських виборів у США в 2016 році.
