Бывший вице-президент США Джо Байден опередил бы действующего президента Дональда Трампа на 8 % на президентских выборах, если бы они проводились сейчас.

Об этом говорится в опросе SurveyUSA.

Так, согласно результатам опроса, демократа Байдена поддерживают 50 % потенциальных избирателей, тогда как республиканцу Трампу свои голоса отдали бы только 42 %.

Кроме того, Трампа с 50 % опередил бы и сенатор-демократ Берни Сандерс.

Опрос проводился с 1 по 5 августа, сразу же после вторых дебатов претендующих на право стать кандидатами партии на выборах демократов в Детройте (штат Мичиган).

Джо Байден считается одним из ключевых претендентов на выдвижение кандидатом в президенты от Демократической партии. Президентские выборы в США состоятся в ноябре 2020 года. В конце апреля Байден обходил Трампа по популярности на 6 %.

К слову, 19 июля президент США Дональд Трамп официально объявил о старте предвыборной кампании в 2020 году.
