Генеральний прокурор США Білл Барр працює над «надзвичайними» і «великими» викриттями щодо діячів з України, які нібито у 2016 році умисне розкрили інформацію про темні справи голови виборчого штабу республіканців Пола Манафорта. Це могло бути зроблено для того, щоб допомогти кандидату від демократів Гілларі Клінтон у президентських перегонах.

Про це в ефірі програми Hannity на Fox News сказав президент США Дональд Трамп. Минулого місяця український Генпрокурор Юрій Луценко відкрив провадження щодо витоку інформації з так званої «чорної бухгалтерії» Віктора Януковича.

Ці дані змусили Манафорта піти з посади голови виборчого штабу Трампа. Розслідування було розпочато після появи аудіозапису, на якому два антикорупційні чиновники з України нібито визнають, що опублікували фінансові дані Манафорта й інформацію про його зв’язки з російськими акторами в Україні умисне, щоб допомогти Клінтон у 2016 році.

Українські правоохоронці на початку місяця говорили, що зібрали безліч доказів змови й порушень з боку демократів і що намагалися передати їх Департаменту юстиції США. Fox News також пише, що суд в Україні нещодавно визнав витік інформації про Манафорта незаконною спробою вплинути на американські вибори. 

Ведучий телеканалу Шон Ханніті запитав Трампа, чи потрібно американцям побачити результати українського розслідування щодо можливої співпраці Клінтон з українськими чиновниками. На це президент США відповів: «Гадаю так. Можу собі уявити, що Барр захоче це побачити. Я, звісно ж, покладаюся на Генпрокурора. Побачимо, що він скаже про це». «Здається, це велика справа, дуже цікавий епізод щодо України. Я нещодавно говорив з новим президентом і привітав його.

Але це здається дуже, дуже великою справою. І я не здивований», - сказав Трамп. Він у середу написав на Twitter: «Не спускайте очей з України». У 2017 році видання Politico виявило, що українські чиновники не лише публічно ставили під сумнів готовність Трампа обійняти посаду президента, а й вели закулісну роботу на користь Клінтон.

Видання з’ясувало, що уряд України працював з консультантом Демократичної партії у пошуку компромату проти Трампа включно з вивченням російських зв’язків Манафорта. Це допомогло змусити його піти у відставку.
