Президент Зимбабве Роберт Мугабе заявил, что, несмотря на события последних дней, возникшая в стране ситуация не повлияла на его положение как главы государства. Об этом сообщает Reuters.

Выступая в эфире государственного телевидения, Мугабе не стал заявлять, что он покидает свой пост, а, наоборот, отметил, что в декабре будет председательствовать на конгрессе правящей партии.

Последние события в Зимбабве, как подчеркнул политик, не являются угрозой конституции или его авторитету как главы государства.

По словам Мугабе, он решил выступить с телеобращением после общения с военными, выразившими обеспокоенность тем, что будет с правящей партией и с последующими принципами управления.

«События прошлой недели показали, насколько шатким могут оказаться мир, закон и порядок в стране», — добавил он.

При этом Мугабе заявил, что люди в Зимбабве должны решать проблемы мирно.

Как сообщил PRпортал, президенту Зимбабве Роберту Мугабе дали меньше суток на добровольную отставку.
