Facebook попереджає про хвилю фейкових новин перед парламентськими виборами у Великій Британії, що відбудуться 8 червня 2017 року. Про це повідомляєНовое время со ссилкой на Reuters.

Facebook запустив у Британії рекламну кампанію, аби попередити користувачів про небезпеку фейкових новин. Оголошення із заголовком Поради щодо визначення фейкових новин інформують про 10 способів виявлення неправдивих історій.

Компанія закликає критично ставитися до заголовків, які звучать сенсаційно, та перевіряти першоджерела, перш ніж поширювати публікації.

Facebook також видалятиме фіктивні профілі та припинятиме поширення публікацій, які виглядають неправдоподібно.

“Ми розробили нові способи виявлення та видалення фіктивних акаунтів, що можуть поширювати неправдиві новини. Так що, зрештою, доберемося до кореня проблеми”, - заявив Саймон Мілнер, директор з політики Facebook у Британії.

Повідомляється, що у Великій Британії Facebook уже вжив заходів щодо десятків тисяч підробних акаунтів.

Раніше Facebook закрив близько 30 000 фальшивих акаунтів, що поширювали фейкові новини перед президентськими виборами у Франції.
