Самопроголошена «влада» Ялти оголосила намір встановити монумент на честь 32-го президента США Франкліна Делано Рузвельта, передає сайт «14 минут». У відповідності зі змістом заяви «чиновників», з боку Рузвельта було зроблено значний внесок в історичне рішення під час Ялтинської конференції 1945 року. У зв’язку з цим передбачається, що церемонія відкриття пам’ятника відбудеться 8 квітня поточного року, під час «свята вулиці», названої на честь американського президента. 

Ініціативу щодо відкриття монументу Рузвельту підтримав «очільник адміністрації» міста Андрій Ростенко. На його думку, така подія сприятиме подальшому покращенню російсько-американських відносин, оскільки «цього року вони мають вийти на якісно новий рівень». Крім того, «мер» Ялти наголосив, що дуже важливим є просто віддати честь відомому американському політику, яким було зроблено вагомий вклад в становленні миру та налагоджені американо-російських відносин. 

Разом з цим, автор встановлення пам’ятника – керівник готелю «Брістоль» В’ячеслав Курашин повідомив, що робота над бюстом була завершена ще у 1960 році місцевим скульптором Костянтином Кошкіним.
