Американський телеканал CNN купив стартап Beme у популярного YouTube-блогера Кейсі Нейстата (Casey Neistat), аби залучити більше молодої аудиторії з онлайну.
 

Додаток Beme дозволяє знімати короткі відео і ділитися ними з друзями, при цьому ролики не можна було відредагувати і подивитися перед відправкою. Після угоди додаток Beme буде закрито. Вся команда Beme перейде працювати в CNN над новим проектом, пише Media Sapiens.  Сума угоди не повідомляється.

CNN очікує, що за допомогою програми користувачі зможуть ділитися відеороликами і обговорювати різні події. Проект націлений в першу чергу на аудиторію так званих «мілленіалів». Запуск проекту намічений на літо 2017 року. Він буде працювати окремо від телеканалу, так само, як і інший онлайн-проект CNN під назвою Great Big Story - націлений на конкуренцію з Buzzfeed.

Кейсі Нейстат вів свій щоденний блог на YouTube з березня 2015 року по листопад 2016 року. На даний момент на його канал підписано понад 5,8 млн осіб.
