Жительница Калифорнии Тери Гольдштейн отсудила у корпорации Microsoft 10 тыс. долларов после того, как ее компьютер автоматически обновился до операционной системы Windows 10, пишет Новое время

Гольдштейн пожаловалась, что после установки обновления ее компьютер начал работать очень медленно и иногда совсем переставал работать. "Я никогда не слышала о Windows 10. Никто никогда не спрашивал меня, хочу ли я обновить [компьютер]", - сообщила она.

Пользователь отметила, что специалисты службы поддержки Microsoft не смогли идентифицировать проблему, поэтому она подала в суд, требуя компенсировать ей потерю заработной платы и стоимость нового компьютера. Суд признал ее требования законными и обязал компанию выплатить ей $10 тыс.

Сначала Microsoft подала апелляцию на решение суда, однако затем отозвала ее, пояснив, что компании проще выплатить пострадавшей деньги.

Издание отмечает, что это первый общеизвестный случай, когда кому-либо удалось отсудить у Microsoft средства за обновление ПО.
