Президент Германии Йоахим Гаук не будет баллотироваться на второй срок в следующем году из-за проблем со здоровьем.

Об этом пишет Bild.

Как сообщает издание, 76-летний президент встретится с канцлером Германии Ангелой Меркель в понедельник, и сделает публичное заявление во вторник.

Согласно информации, жена Гаука Даниэла Шадт посоветовала ему не идти на второй срок из-за возраста и состояния здоровья.

Гаук был назначен на пост президента ФРГ в марте 2012 года, после того, как его консервативный предшественник Кристиан Вульф был вынужден уйти в отставку из-за обвинений в коррупции.

Его срок заканчивается в начале 2017 года.
