Британская газета The Observer опубликовала материал, посвященный победам президента России Владимира Путина в информационной войне.

В качестве основного инструмента, благодаря которому Москве удается достичь успеха, издание называет российские СМИ, вещающие на иностранных языках и, в частности, Russia Today. В материале отмечается, что канал «воздействует на людей посредством освещения событий в интересах Кремля, причем делает это на английском, испанском, арабском, немецком, французском и русском языках».

Ресурс при этом преподносит себя как объективное СМИ, освещающее сложившуюся картину дня. Однако, по мнению The Observer, благодаря публикующимся материалам RT удается формировать выгодное России мнение аудитории по всевозможным вопросам, начиная с панамского досье и заканчивая президентскими выборами в США.

В марте этого года британская газета The Sunday Times писала о том, что Путину «вновь удалось переиграть» его американского коллегу Барака Обаму. Материал был посвящен участию России в антитеррористической операции в Сирии.

«Он [Путин] определенно знает, как держать всех в напряжении. (...) У него уходит много времени на то, чтобы принять решение, но по Сирии именно он продвигает повестку дня и тем самым вынуждает всех обратить на себя внимание. Мы играем с ним в догонялки», — приводило издание слова неназванного западного дипломата.
