Повідомляється, що це допоможе попередити небезпечне водіння і стане стримуючим фактором для порушників.

Зазначається, що особливого багато дорожніх пригод відбувається під час Сонгкрана, тайського Нового року, який відзначається у квітні.

Раніше уряд країни виступав з пропозицією вилучати автомобілі у порушників на час свята.

Сонгкран - буддійський Новий рік, який в Таїланді святкують з 10 по 17 квітня. Офіційно вихідних в ці дні тільки три - 13, 14 і 15 квітня - проте більшість громадян Таїланду беруть на цей час кілька днів відпустки і виїжджають з міста.
