У Запоріжжі знесли з постаменту пам'ятник Володимиру Леніну на виконання закону про декомунізацію.

Демонтувати пам'ятник почали у понеділок.

19 лютого Запорізька міська рада ухвалила рішення про перейменування низки радянських назв вулиць та районів, а також вирішила протягом місяця демонтувати пам’ятники Леніну, Дзержинському та Орджонікідзе на виконання закону про "декомунізацію"

Пам'ятник був встановлений 1964 року. Висота бронзової статуї складає 19,8 метри. Ленін стоїть на постаменті з рожевого граніту, у нижній частині якого розташовані бронзові фігури сталевара, будівельника, колгоспниці та вченого. Рука Леніна вказує в сторону дамби ДніпроГЕСу.
