Новим прем'єр-міністром Грузії став Гіоргій Квірікашвілі, грузинський парламент висловив йому свою довіру.

Новим міністром закордонних справ став Михайло Джанелідзе. Пост глави МЗС раніше займав Квірікашвілі, пише Європейська правда.

Квірікашвілі зазначив, що головними напрямками нової роботи уряду стануть: зміцнення економіки, збільшення числа робочих місць і орієнтир на соціальні програми. Він також назвав пріоритетним прагнення Грузії увійти до складу НАТО і Євросоюзу.

"Ми продовжимо прагматичну, орієнтовану на мир політику щодо Росії. Це дуже важливо, щоб у Грузії була можливість мирно розвиватися. Ми багато вже зробили в цьому напрямку і докладемо максимум зусиль, щоб повною мірою задіяти потенціал переговорів з Росією в Женевському форматі і форматі переговорів спецпредставника прем'єра Грузії Зураба Абашидзе із заступником міністра закордонних справ Росії Григорієм Карасіним", - заявив новий прем'єр.

Колишній прем'єр-міністр Грузії Іраклій Гарібашвілі подав у відставку 23 грудня.

Гіоргій Квірікашвілі займав пост міністра закордонних справ Грузії з 1 вересня 2015 року. А з жовтня 2012 був міністром економіки та сталого розвитку.
