Президент России Владимир Путин подписал указ о создании детско-юношеской организации «Российское движение школьников», задачи которой будут аналогичны пионерскому движению, существовавшему в СССР.

В соответствии с указом, до конца марта 2016 года правительство должно определить список передаваемого организации имущества.
Пионерское движение в СССР существовало с 1922 года. В соответствии с положением пионерской организации, ее целью было воспитание юных борцов за дело Коммунистической партии Советского Союза.
