Российский пропагандистский телеканал РЕН ТВ на своем сайте опубликовал новость о присутствии на митинге оппозиции в Марьино посла США в Москве Джона Теффта, сообщает Новое время.

При этом новость сопровождалась смонтированной фотографией из Twitter. На поддельное фото обратили внимание блогеры.

На фото изображен Теффт, отвечающий на вопросы журналистов на фоне сцены оппозиционного митинга, который сторонники Алексея Навального и другие оппозиционеры проводили накануне в московском Марьино. При этом фото было смонтировано - изображение Теффта было вырезано с другой фотографии американского посла.На исходной фотографии Теффт общается с прессой около Большого Москворецкого моста на месте убийства Бориса Немцова. В качестве источника фейкового фото указан Twitter.

На сайте РЕН ТВ утверждалось, что Теффт "пытался затеряться в толпе", однако заявил "средствам массовой информации", что "пришел посмотреть на развитие демократии в России и оценить ее масштаб".

Митинг оппозиции За сменяемость власти прошел 20 сентября в Марьино на улице Перерва. По данным проекта Белый счетчик, в митинге приняли участие 7,1 тыс. человек.

В Twitter посольства США в Москве сказано: "Посол Теффт провел вчерашний выходной дома. Но благодаря фотошопу можно оказаться где угодно".
