Відомі західні журналісти й експерти заперечують своє авторство книг циклу «Проект «Путін», які випускає московське видавництво «Алгоритм».

Про це пише британська газета The Guardian, передає Media Sapiens

«Журналіст газети The Guardian Люк Хардінг, економіст Едвард Лукас і американський експерт щодо Росії Дональд Дженсен сказали, що нічого не знають про приписувані їм книги, випущені російською мовою в Москві видавництвом «Алгоритм» у серії «Проект «Путин», - йдеться у публікації.

Автор декількох книг про Росію Едвард Лукас заявив, що не мав «ані найменшого уявлення» про книгу «Как Запад потерял Путина», яка вийшла під його ім'ям в «Алгоритмі»: «Я не давав жодних дозволів. Це явно порушення авторських прав».

Також Дональд Дженсен, «автор» книги «Путин и США», сказав: «Я не писав таку книгу жодною мовою. Це виглядає як збірка моїх [давніх] коментарів».

Книга ж «Никто кроме Путина. Почему его признает российская «система» приписується Люку Хардінгу. Як повідомлялось, 9 серпня, він спростував авторство книжки. У передмові до неї Хардінга називають учасником інформаційної війни проти Росії, а газету The Guardian - «лівою опорою західного імперіалізму». За словами журналіста, про «свою книгу» він дізнався від московського приятеля, який побачив її у крамниці.

У свою чергу директор «Алгоритма» Сергій Ніколаєв зізнався, що від Хардінга не було отримано попередніх дозволів на використання його робіт у новій книзі. «Якщо він [Хардінг] «спливе», то ми прийдемо до якоїсь угоди і виплатимо йому гонорар», - сказав Ніколаєв.

Водночас коментувати претензії Лукаса і Дженсена він відмовився, кажучи, що не знайомий з цими випадками.

Раніше Хардінг припустив, що колишній держсекретар США Генрі Кіссінджер, чиє ім'я вказано на обкладинці книги «Понять Путина» з тієї ж серії, аналогічно не має до неї стосунку.

Також він зазначив, що його видавці зараз приймають рішення, чи вживатимуть юридичні заходи проти «Алгоритму». У видавництві кореспондентові «Укрінформу» сказали, що керівництво наразі відсутнє і попросили подзвонити пізніше.
