Росія зайняла десяте з кінця місце в списку найбільш безпечних для життя країн, який склала міжнародна група Інституту миру. Україна посіла в рейтингу 12-е з кінця місце.

У рейтингу Global Peace Index країна опинилася між КНДР і Нігерією, зайнявши 152-е місце з 162 можливих. Найнебезпечнішою країною визнана Сирія, за нею йдуть Ірак і Афганістан,повідомляє ВВС

У десятку найбільш небезпечних країн також увійшли Південний Судан, Центральна Африканська Республіка, Сомалі, Судан, Демократична Республіка Конго, Пакистан і КНДР.

Найбезпечнішою країною визнали Ісландію. На другому місці - Данія, а на третьому - Австрія. У першій десятці найбезпечніших країн в основному європейські держави. Винятками стали Канада (7-е місце) і Австралія (9-е місце).

США експерти поставили на 94-й рядок рейтингу, а Великобританію - на 39-е. У Латинській Америці найбезпечнішою країною визнана Чилі (29-е місце в глобальному рейтингу), а в Африці - Ботсвана (31-е місце).

Рейтинг Global Peace Index існує з 2007 року. При його складанні враховуються 23 фактори, до яких входять як внутрішні - наприклад, рівень насильства в країні і злочинність, так і зовнішні - міжнародні відносини країни і витрати на військові потреби.
