В продолжение развернувшейся дискуссии о регулировании государством СМИ, вспомним яркие кампании о свободе журналистики самого долговечного и доверительного сегмента медиа — печатного.

В прошлом месяце ведущие газеты Австралии вышли с необычными первыми страницами. Тексты первых полос были почти полностью замазаны «цензорскими» чернилами. Так стартовала коллективная акция протеста печатной прессы против новых законов о конфиденциальности, угрожающих свободе слова. 

 

Акцию назвали «Право знать», и она стала реакцией на нарастающее напряжение, обыски в редакциях газет, судебные дела против журналистов и их информаторов, включая дело Ричарда Бойла, которому грозит 161 год тюрьмы за обнародование информации о том, как злоупотребляет властью налоговая служба Австралии. 

Кампания журнала Rolling Stones, тот же прием вычеркнутых цензором слов.
