Тиждень тому сервіс мікроблогів Twitter оголосив про більш жорстку політику щодо боротьби з тролями.
 

Мережа приховуватиме з пошуку та з переписок твіти, які система мережі розпізнає як образливі, пише Media Sapiens із посиланням на  The Verge. Однак спроба приборкати тролів вилилась в масове блокування користувачів з Болгарії. Як припускає видання, причиною для цього стало те, що в цій країні використовують кирилицю, як і в Росії. Люди також скаржаться на фільтрування їх повідомлень та постів. Як іронічно звернув увагуодин з користувачів Twitter, окрім Росії кирилиця використовується й у 15 інших країнах.

Twitter надсилає таким користувачам сповіщення про те, що їх акаунти ідентифікувала система через «автоматизовану поведінку». Аби повернути доступ до профілю Twitter потрібно пройти «капчу» та додати свій номер телефону до акаунта.

У компанії Twitter повідомили, що вже знають про проблему та шукають способи її вирішення. Водночас сервіс має намір продовжити вживати усі необхідні заходи для того, аби запобігти поширенню спаму та бот-мереж у Twitter.
