Журналіст російського спортивного видання «Чемпіонат.com» Олександр Круглов навмисне ввів в оману німецьких колег.
 

Журналіст опублікував розповідь з підзаголовком «Почему не стыдно Александру Круглову» у зведеному матеріалі авторів «Чемпіонату», які висвітлюють Ігри-2016. Як цитує його Meduza, під час групової шосейної гонки 6 серпня до Олександра Круглова підійшли двоє німецьких репортерів та попросили показати шлях в зону фінішу і місце, де можна перетнути трасу, пише Media Sapiens

«Німці, значить, - подумав я, внутрішньо посміхнувшись як кіношний лиходій. Ті самі німці, газети яких збираються ігнорувати результати всіх російських спортсменів. - Ну, тримайтеся, німці», - описав свою реакцію російський журналіст.

Журналіст з посмішкою показав колегам протилежний напрямок. За розрахунками Круглова, на повернення до місця освітлення гонки німецьким журналістам довелось би потратити мінімум годину. Круглов висловив сподівання, що колеги не стали повертатися, а «вирішили спокійно попити пивка на березі моря, згадуючи недобрим словом пособника путінського режиму і спадкоємця Сусаніна». 

Нагадаємо, німецький таблоїд Bild заявив, що не буде зараховувати результати виступів збірної Росії на Олімпійських іграх в Ріо-де-Жанейро в медальному заліку. 

Також увечері 9 серпня в Ріо-де-Жанейро невідомі в центрі міста напали на автобус з журналістами і обслуговуючим персоналом Олімпійських ігор.
