У центрі Праги на Староміській площі намалювали крейдою понад 22 000 хрестів на згадку про жертв пандемії коронавірусу, померлих за останні 12 місяців.

Акцію організувала група під назвою "Мільйон моментів за демократію", яка в 2019 році організувала масові акції протесту проти прем'єр-міністра Андрея Бабіша.

22 березня річниця смерті першого чеського пацієнта з коронавірусом. На думку групи, хрести є "символом даремно витрачених урядом життів".

"Багато хто з них померли марно. Відповідальність лежить на уряді, який ставить свій бізнес в пріоритет над своїми громадянами. Уряд не можна звинувачувати в COVID-19, але можна в марно загублених життях", - написав у Twitter глава організації Беньямін Ролл.

За даними Міністерства охорони здоров'я Чехії, офіційне число загиблих за час пандемії становить 24 810 осіб.
