На футбольному матчі варшавської "Легії" з казахстанської "Астаною", який відбувся 2 серпня в рамках третього кваліфікаційного раунду Ліги чемпіонів, польські вболівальники вивісили на всю свою трибуну величезний банер, присвячений 73-й річниці Варшавського повстання 1944 року.

Матч почався хвилиною мовчання в пам'ять про загиблих.

Повстання було найбільшою операцією Армії Крайової і наймасштабнішою збройної акцією підпільного руху опору в окупованій Європі. Воно розпочалося 1 серпня 1944 року і тривало три місяці.

Текст банера говорить: "Під час Варшавського повстання німці вбили 160 тисяч чоловік. Тисячі з них були дітьми".

Матч закінчився з рахунком 1:0 на користь "Легії", але за сукупністю результатів двох матчів в наступний раунд пройшла казахська команда.Водночас, варшавський футбольний клуб побореться за вихід у груповий раунд Ліги Європи.
