Британская газета The Guardian опубликовала 15 фотографий с празднования Маланки в Сторожинецком районе Черновицкой области

К каждой фотографии прилагаются текстовки, передает "Молодой Буковинец".

"Жители Красноильска, Западной Украины, отмечают Маланку, старый Новый год", - пишет издание.

Жители поселка Красноильск утверждают, что фестиваль переодевания здесь празднуют 400 лет, и за это время Маланка почти не изменилась. Разве что добавляются костюмы новых "героев" - Брежнева, Азарова и тому подобное. Но главным персонажем является соломенный медведь.

Этот день село ждет целый год. Все это время селяне готовят костюмы, изготавливают маски и бутафорское оружие, чтобы пройтись в них по главной улице поселка до площади, где каждая группа маланкарей, а их обычно больше 10-ти, продемонстрирует свое выступление.

Фишкой Маланки есть таинственность образа. Ведь до выступления на площади односельчане не должны узнать друг друга. Иначе маланкаря ожидает глубоке погружения в ледяную прорубь.
