Популярный мужской журнал Penthouse отказывается от печатной версии и планирует сконцентрироваться на публикациях в Сети, сообщает sostav.ru. Издатель журнала Penthouse - компания FriendFinder Networks отмечает, что решила отказаться от бумажной версии для того, чтобы сконцентрироваться на предпочитаемом читателями способе потребления медиаконтента в современном мире.

Принято решение закрыть офис редакции в Нью-Йорке, а сотрудников перевести в офис в Лос-Анджелесе, где располагается штаб-квартира FriendFinder Networks. Точная дата выхода последнего печатного номера Penthouse пока не называется.

Журнал для мужчин Penthouse был основан в 1965 году в Великобритании. Во времена наибольшей популярности ежемесячный тираж Penthouse составлял около 5 млн экземпляров. В последние годы он сократился до примерно 110 тысяч копий в месяц. Для журнала снимались и многие известные российские звёзды, такие как Маша Распутина, Илона Селина, Виктория Боня, Юлия Такшина и другие.

Penthouse отличается от другого популярного мужского журнала Playboy более "жёстким" сексуальным содержанием. В свою очередь в конце прошлого года Playboy и вовсе принял решение полностью отказаться от фотографий обнаженных моделей. Смену редакционной политики объяснили желанием увеличить аудиторию издания, а также сменой приоритетов и потребностей читателей издания.
