Останніми днями безвідповідальне та нерозбірливе спалювання спричинило величезні пожежі в парагвайському регіоні Чако, спустошивши понад 175 000 гектарів корінних лісів. 

Вогонь залишається неконтрольованим і донині, загрожуючи багатьом видам, які вже перебувають під загрозою зникнення. А дим від пожеж охопив всю країну, зробивши повітря, яким дихають люди, нездоровим і небезпечним. 

 

Щоб підвищити обізнаність та запобігти повторенню подібного, парагвайський підрозділ Всесвітнього фонду природи зібрав попіл, що випав у столиці, і створив картини, що представляють тварин, які найбільше постраждали від цієї трагедії.
