Американка українського походження Вікторія Спарц повертається до Конгресу США.

 Торік Спарц заявляла, що не планує балотуватись знову, але передумала за кілька днів до кінцевого терміну подання документів. Вікторія Спартц змагалася проти демократки Дебори Пікетт, яка в минулому служила в армії США.

На офіційній сторінці кампанії Спарц зазначено, що вона отримала підтримку від американських асоціацій власників зброї, противників абортів і малого бізнесу.

Серед пріоритетів програми Спарц, як вказано на сайті її кампанії: захист прав власників зброї, скорочення державних витрат, посилення міграційної політики та безпеки на південному кордоні США, збереження сильної армії, реформи в освіті, прозорість уряду та зменшення регуляції для бізнесу.

Крім виборів президента США, 5 листопада американці також обирають конгресменів. Переобираються 34 зі 100 сенаторів та усі 435 законодавці у Палаті представників. Демократи зараз контролюють більшість в Сенаті, республіканці - у Палаті представників. Вже відомо, що партія Трампа стала ближчою до контролю над Сенатом США.
