Найважчий гарбуз у світі виростив у США наставник з садівництва Тревіс Джинджер. Гігантський гарбуз на прізвисько Майкл Джордан заважив 1250 кг. Про це повідомляє The Guardian.

Незвичайну рослину американець виставив на 50-му чемпіонаті з найважчих гарбузів у Хаф-Мун-Бей в Каліфорнії. При цьому чоловік віз свій величезний гарбуз з Міннесоти — відстань між штатами становить понад 3 тис. км.

Гарбуз дістав ім’я на честь відомого баскетболіста Майкла Джордана. Джинджер вибрав таке ім’я через “баскетбольну форму” гарбуза та року, коли він досяг рекордної форми — 2023 року (відомо, що Джордан грав у баскетбол під 23 номером).

Гарбуз Джинджера побив попередній рекорд, встановлений у 2021 році Стефано Кутрупі з Італії, на 21 кг.

“Майкл Джордан” виріс у величезний, ребристий, помаранчевий гарбуз, еквівалентний приблизно 2110 баскетбольним м’ячам або приблизно 275 звичайним гарбузам.

Тревіс Джинджер витратив понад 15 тисяч доларів на догляд за “Майклом Джорданом”. Вигравши у змаганні, чоловік отримав вдвічі більшу суму, яку тепер планує інвестувати у вирощування нового гарбуза наступного року. 43-річний чоловік захоплюється садівництвом з підліткового віку і вже не вперше бере участь у конкурсі.
