Кандидат в президенти США від демократів Джо Байден на 14% обходить в гонці чинного президента Дональда Трампа.
 

Про це свідчать дані опитування Siena College і New York Times. 

Байден отримав широку підтримку серед жінок і темношкірих. Крім того, його підтримує частина електорату республіканців через неефективну боротьбу з коронавірусів Трампа.

За даними опитування, рейтинг Байдена становить 50%, Трампа - 36%.

Опитування показує, що у частини електорату Трампа знизилася підтримка, оскільки його адміністрація не змогла зупинити коронавірус. Крім того, виборці незадоволені заявами Трампа про застосування сили для розгону протестів, які спалахнули після вбивства афроамериканця Джоржда Флойда.

Байдена підтримує велика частина темношкірих і латиноамериканських виборців, жінки і молодь. Серед чоловіків, білих і виборців середнього і старшого віку - підтримка Байдена і Трампа приблизно однакова.

Раніше опитування Reuters/Ipsos показало  відрив Байдена від Трампа серед зареєстрованих виборців в 13 відсотків.

Червневе опитування СNN показало перевагу Байдена перед Трампом в 14%.

6 червня Байден формально став суперником Трампа на виборах від Демпартії - його кандидатуру попередньо підтримали 1995 делегатів .

Тепер кандидатуру Байдена повинні офіційно затвердити на з'їзді Демократичної партії в серпні.
