Влада японського міста Кіото повідомила, що збирається продавати знамениті кришки каналізаційних люків колекціонерам. Оздоблені складними зображеннями, вони мають шанувальників у всьому світі, і місті уже приймають заявки від потенційних покупців. 

Про це повідомляє The Guardian. 

В Японії каналізаційні люки створюють як справжні витвори мистецтва. На них зображують історичні будівлі, такі як Замок Осака в оточенні цвіту сакур, та інші символи країни, в тому числі і покемонів. Тож чавунні кришки вважають національною гордістю.

Зараз у місті 160 тис. каналізаційних люків, кожен рік Кіото змінює 1,5 тис. люків. На проїжджій частина їх використовують 15 років, на тротуарах – 30. Потім встановлюють нові.

Міська рада вирішила спробувати продати старі люки 1978, 1981 и 1990 років. Кожна із них важить 90 кг. Вони не мають унікального художнього оздоблення, натомість мають сліди ржавчини та подряпим від трафіка. 

Влада Кіото призначила ціну у 3 тис. єн за кожну – близько $20. Ціна швидко піднялася до 5,5 тис. єн – $37.

У місті зважилися на експеримент після того, як інше японське місто Маебасі у 2017 році вигідно продало 10 кришок.
