Про це повідомляє РБК-Україна з  посиланням на DW.  "Під час чергових рейдів в Стамбулі турецька поліція у четвер, 10 серпня 2017 року, провела численні арешти серед представників засобів масової інформації", - йдеться в повідомленні. Згідно з інформацією, серед арештованих знаходиться і редактор критичної до уряду газети Birgün.

За інформацією державного новинного агентства Anadolu, ордери на арешт були видані на 35 співробітників турецьких ЗМІ. Повідомляється, що журналістів звинувачують у причетності до руху, пов'язаного з ісламським проповідником Фетхуллахом Гюленом, якого турецька влада звинувачуює у спробі державного перевороту в липні 2016 року. Так, представників ЗМІ звинувачують у використанні служби ByLock Messenger, де вони нібито обговорювали підготовку путчу. Рух Гюлена вважається в Туреччині терористичною організацією.

Зазначимо, всього у турецьких в'язницях перебуває близько 160 журналістів та представників ЗМІ.
