Американские сенаторы создали двухпартийную группу поддержки Украины.

Группа займется усилением связей между Вашингтоном и Киевом. Инициаторами выступили сенатор-республиканец от штата Огайо Роб Портман и демократ от штата Иллинойс Дик Дурбин,сообщает Новое время

Основной задачей объединения будет защита интересов и координация более значимых усилий с целью поддержки Украины.

“Перед лицом продолжающейся российской агрессии и повторяющихся посяганий на территориальную целостность Украина нуждается в надежном союзнике в США”, - заявил сенатор Дурбин.

Информация о создании группы защитников Украины появилась спустя несколько часов после того, как президент США Барак Обама не исключил предоставления стране оружия, если дипломатические усилия Евросоюза потерпят неудачу.
