Пять кандидатов от Партии независимости Британии (UKIP) одержали победу на местных выборах в Ассамблею Уэльса, пишет Европейская правда.

Партия UKIP, которая активно лоббирует выход страны из Евросоюза, впервые получила места в уэльском парламенте. Крупнейшей партией, как и раньше, останутся лейбористы, которые получат 26 мест из 60. Это на четыре места меньше, чем на выборах 2011 года.

Следует отметить, что в прошлом году на всеобщих выборах в Великобритании партия UKIP сумела получить лишь одно место в британском парламенте.

В частности, глава UKIP Найджел Фарадж, известный своим лояльным отношением к Владимиру Путину, проиграл выборы в своем округе.

Как сообщалось, Шотландская национальная партия (SNP) одержала победу на местных выборах в парламент Шотландии.
