Сегодня, 22 марта, в Киеве хоронят убитого в 2000 году украинского журналиста Георгия Гонгадзе.

Как сообщает Интерфакс-Украина, на данный момент его останки перевозят из центрального морга к месту погребения на Подоле.

Катафалк с гробом, покрытый флагами Украины и Грузии, сопровождают две машины полиции, микроавтобус и несколько авто с сопровождающими.

Ранее сообщалось, что тело Гонгадзе будет предано земле на территории церкви Николая Набережного в Киеве, отпевание и прощание начнется около 12:00. Отмечается также, что фото- и видеосъемка будут запрещены.

Напомним, ранее президент Украины Петр Порошенко передал вдове погибшего журналиста Георгия Гонгадзе Мирославе орден Звезда Героя.

Журналист Георгий Гонгадзе исчез в Киеве 16 сентября 2000 года. В ноябре того же года в лесу под Киевом обнаружили обезглавленное тело. Согласно выводам экспертов, оно могло принадлежать журналисту. В 2009 году в Киевской области нашли останки черепа, которые, согласно заявлению ГПУ, принадлежат погибшему Гонгадзе. Впрочем, до сих пор тело не было предано земле, поскольку мама журналиста Леся Гонгадзе отказывалась признать их принадлежащими ее сыну. В ноябре 2013 года она скончалась. Заказчики убийства Георгия Гонгадзе до сих пор не установлены.
