Документ даст однополым парам не только право на брак или союз, но и право получать родительские права в отношении детей своих партнёров.

В данный момент Италия остается единственной страной Западной Европы, где не признают однополые браки. Разрешение однополых браков поддерживает премьер министр Маттео Ренци. Его партия имеет большинство в обеих палатах парламента. Однако далеко не все соратники согласны со своим лидером - против законопроекта, в поддержку традиционных ценностей, открыто выступили несколько министров.

Как сообщал УНИАН, 23 января в Италии прошли многотысячные акции за однополые браки под лозунгом "Проснись, Италия!".
