В Індії у видавництві Ядавпурського університету вийшов перший переклад поетичної збірки Тараса Шевченка бенгальською мовою. Видання проілюстрували картинами самого поета. Про це пише«Читомо» з посиланням на повідомлення перекладачки Мрідули Гош.

Як зауважила перекладачка Мрідула Гош, це перша адаптація творів Шевченка з української будь-якою мовою Південної Азії.

Гош подякувала директору видавництва Абхіджиту Гупті, а також архівам і цифровим ресурсам Національного музею Тараса Шевченка.

«У ці складні часи Національний музей Шевченка робить усе, щоб зберегти його спадщину. Мій переклад не був би можливим без доступу до архівів і величезної допомоги директора музею Дмитра Стуса, а також дослідниці Тамари Холоші», — написала перекладачка.

Передмову до збірки написали історик Сергій Плохій й третій Президент України Віктор Ющенко.
