Співробітники Служби безпеки України виявили та припинили розповсюдження на території країни програмного забезпечення для перегляду заборонених телеканалів. Оперативники Управління СБУ в Харківській області встановили, що менеджмент однієї з розгалужених оптово-роздрібних мереж, яка реалізує побутову електротехніку, організував встановлення додаткового програмного забезпечення на SMART-телевізори. За додаткову плату покупцям пропонували "перепрошити" телевізор, щоб отримати можливість вільно переглядати телевізійні пропагандистські канали країни-агресора, заборонені Національною Радою з питань телебачення і радіомовлення України через загрозу національній безпеці. Вартість такої послуги становила 1900 гривень.
Правоохоронці зʼясували, що розробили програмне забезпечення вітчизняні ІТ-спеціалісти, які також займалися адмініструванням інтернет-ресурсів для технічної підтримки трансляції заборонених каналів. Хостинг здійснювала одна з найбільших в Україні провайдерських компаній. Співробітники СБ України провели низку обшуків у магазинах торговельної мережі в Харкові та за місцями мешкання фігурантів справи. Правоохоронці виявили бухгалтерську та іншу документацію, яка доводить реалізацію нелегального програмного забезпечення.
Доступ до серверного обладнання, яке знаходиться у Києві, заблоковано. Наразі кримінальне провадження здійснюється за ст. 110 Кримінального кодексу України (посягання на територіальну цілісність і недоторканість України). Вирішується питання щодо кваліфікації дій зловмисників за іншими статтями. Співробітники спецслужби також здійснюють перевірку можливої причетності менеджменту торговельної мережі до ухилення від сплати податків та приховування реальних фінансово-економічних і облікових процесів фірми від державних контролюючих органів. Тривають оперативно-слідчі дії.
