Первый заместитель главы Администрации Президента Виталий Ковальчук надеется на проведение 25 октября выборов в местные органы власти на большей части контролируемых украинскими властями территорий Луганской и Донецкой областей. Об этом он сказал в эфире 5 канала.

"Я надеюсь, что на преимущественном большинстве территорий Луганской и Донецкой областей, которые контролируются украинскими властями, местные выборы будут проведены", - сказал он.

Комментируя позицию председателей военно-гражданских администраций Донецкой и Луганской областей Павла Жебривского и Георгия Туки, выступающих против проведения выборов на территории их регионов по соображениям безопасности, Ковальчук отметил, что окончательное решение по этому вопросу будет утверждать Верховная Рада после соответствующего представления Центральной избирательной комиссии.

При этом он подчеркнул, что Рада должна определится в этом вопросе не позже 5 сентября.

Относительно решения Жебривского о создании 6 территориальных общин в области и назначения выборов в них на 29 ноября, которое в последствии он отменил, Ковальчук отметил, что действующая редакция закона о военно-гражданских администрациях не предусматривает решения председателя такой администрации об объединении общин.Он отметил, что для такой возможности необходимо внести изменения в законодательство.
