Уряд запровадив обмеження щодо проведення перевірок діяльності засобів масової інформації дозавершення виборчого процесу місцевих виборів у 2015 році. Відповідну постанову Кабінету Міністрів №822 прийнято 13 жовтня 2015 року.
Дане рішення прийнято з метою забезпечення конституційних гарантій на свободу слова в Україні,публічності і відкритості виборчого процесу, усунення правових, адміністративних, економічних таорганізаційних перешкод у висвітленні виборчого процесу, створення рівних можливостей доступу до засобівмасової інформації незалежно від форми власності.
Кабінет Міністрів України постановив міністерствам та іншим центральним органам виконавчої влади,уповноваженим проводити перевірки засобів масової інформації, вжити заходів щодо припинення проведеннятаких перевірок до завершення виборчого процесу місцевих виборів у 2015 році.
Також Уряд рекомендував Національній раді з питань телебачення і радіомовлення до завершеннявиборчого процесу місцевих виборів у 2015 році припинити проведення перевірок діяльностітелерадіоорганізацій.
