Група американських продюсерів повідомили про зйомки фільму під назвою «Ми перериваємо цю передачу» (We Interrupt This Program).

Стрічка буде присвячена подіям, які відбулися в 1938 році на американській радіостанції CBS. Тоді режисер та актор Орсон Уеллс (Orson Welles) створив радіопостановку, стилізовану під випуск новин про вторгнення марсіан. Для цього він навіть підготував фальшиві репортажі з місць прибуття прибульців. Таким чином він адаптував книгу відомого письменника Герберта Уеллса для CBS, пише Media Sapiens

Про те, що це не справжні новини, а уривки з книги, адаптовані в радіошоу, ведучий повідомив лише через 40 хвилин після його початку. Багато слухачів дійсно повірили в те, що на Землю висадилися марсіани, і в країні почалася паніка. Передачу слухали приблизно 6 мільйонів осіб.

Фільм буде побудований навколо протистояння Орсона Уеллса та його продюсера Джона Хаусманна (John Houseman) під час роботи над радіопостановкою. Над стрічкою працюватимуть продюсери Шон Соренсен (Sean Sorensen), Даг Манкофф (Doug Mankoff) і Енді Сполдінг (Andy Spaulding). Хто виступить режисером та яким буде акторський склад поки не повідомляється.

Раніше MediaSapiens публікував підбірку фільмів про журналістів. Серед них - і режисерський дебют Орсона Уеллса «Громадянин Кейн».
